ZIF-8 (Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8)
ZIF-8 is a zinc-based Metal–Organic Framework (MOF) characterized by high porosity, large specific surface area, and exceptional thermal and chemical stability. In micro- and nanoparticle form, ZIF-8 offers enhanced dispersibility and faster mass transport while preserving its crystalline pore structure. These features make ZIF-8 nanoparticles highly attractive for gas separation and storage, catalysis, drug delivery, chemical sensing, and as sacrificial templates or precursors for porous carbons and metal oxides.
