Na.Ma.S.Te. – Nano Materials Smart Technology is a research and innovation project funded by the Veneto Region with a public contribution of €53.250 (on a total budget of €71.000) focused on the development of an innovative pilot-scale process to produce carbon-based nanomaterials, particularly graphene.
Currently, graphene on the market exists in two main forms: a less pure type, used in composites for sports equipment, anti-corrosion coatings, and technical textiles, and a high-purity type, used in biotechnology, biomedical sensing, and specialized electronic applications. Future applications are expected in energy storage (batteries and supercapacitors), microelectronics, air and water purification, and 3D printing.
The project falls within the Smart Manufacturing specialization area and contributes to three Key Enabling Technologies (KETs): nanotechnologies, advanced manufacturing, and advanced materials, supporting energy efficiency and the development of innovative materials in line with the RIS3 Veneto.
Thanks to strong collaboration with the University of Padova (Departments of Chemistry and Industrial Engineering) and the use of green processes, Na.Ma.S.Te promotes industrial innovation, sustainability, and positions Veneto to strengthen its role in the Regional Innovation Index.
