(LaNiO3)
LaNiO3 (Lanthanum Nickel Oxide) is a perovskite-type oxide. Unlike most rare-earth nickelates, LaNiO3 exhibits metallic conductivity over a wide temperature range, making it particularly attractive for electronic and electrochemical applications. Its mixed-valence nickel states and strong Ni–O hybridization enable efficient surface redox activity, which is beneficial for catalytic processes such as oxygen evolution and oxidation reactions. Due to its structural stability and good lattice matching with other oxides, LaNiO3 is widely used in thin-film heterostructures, electrodes for energy devices, and as a model system for studying correlated electron behavior.
