(La3Ni2O7)
La3Ni2O7 belongs to the Ruddlesden–Popper series of layered nickelates (n=2), consisting of perovskite-like bilayers separated by rock-salt LaO layers. This layered structure introduces strong anisotropy in both electronic and transport properties compared to three-dimensional perovskites. The compound exhibits complex electronic behavior, including temperature-dependent transport and possible metal–insulator transitions driven by electron correlations. Owing to its quasi-two-dimensional nature, La3Ni2O7 is of significant interest for fundamental studies of strongly correlated systems, as well as for applications in oxide electronics, catalysis, and energy-related devices.
